DWC? I’ve always wanted to try that. I always been in soil, but I’ve seen some killer runs done with DWC. HOW HARD IS IT TO LEARN? LOOKS LIKE YOU’RE COMING ALONG HARD AND STRONG.And so it beginsGerminated in root riot cubes dipped in 50/50 organicrev/water. Will be moved to 3.5 gallon buckets for a week or two before going to the 7 gallon buckets on the gravity fed dwc. 3 or 4 will be on kosher nutrients, hydroguard and bud candy. 2 or 3 will be on the complete success nutrients line + bud candy + hydroguardView attachment 99View attachment 100
Personally I think it's a lot easier, and a lot more hands off and easier to control than soil grows.DWC? I’ve always wanted to try that. I always been in soil, but I’ve seen some killer runs done with DWC. HOW HARD IS IT TO LEARN? LOOKS LIKE YOU’RE COMING ALONG HARD AND STRONG.
When you over water in soil it's because your depriving them of available oxegyn, the roots have to be able to breath, that's why in soils you generally want a nice, light, air mix with at least 30% perelite or pumice with some pest for water retention and maybe some coco + your amendments. Overwatering in soil happens when the soil can't breath because it's to dense, and from frequency of water not generally how much you water when you water. When I ran soil i'd watered 1-2 gallons every time I watered once they were past the seedling stage, and even before putting the seeds in the container I would completely soak and saturated the container a couple days before I moved the seedling to it. When it lost 60-70% of its fully saturated weight it was time to water again until it was fully saturated again.Dwc is interested. I will never understand how they handle all that water when ya can over water in soil. Just new to the game very cool tho.
Wow thanks for the info. For now im doing soil but maybe someday switch over. Thanks so much for always sharing you knowledge MO Harester your a good man.Personally I think it's a lot easier, and a lot more hands off and easier to control than soil grows.

In dwc you don't have that problem because you are constantly pumping air into it with air stones so the roots stay fully oxygenated at all times. In the small buckets we run 2x 2" round ball style air stones now, and in the big buckets we run 3x of them. Each airstone has between 5-9w worth of air pump going to it. In the big buckets there are 2 with 9w (6x on a 55w, 2x 55w pumps so 12x stones with about 9w to them, and then 6 stones on a 35w that are mid way down the bucket closer to the top so a little under 6w each for a total of about 25w per bucket, that equates to around 7-8lpm per gallon of solution or so way over kill but it's how you get explosive growth making sure the water never really dips below 7 or 8ppm Disolved oxegyn, 9ppm is ideal but that's hard to achieve once the plants really get moving), then the small buckets each have 2x stones on a 35w pump but hold 1/2 the amount of water and doesn't have to work as hard against the weight of the water.
Sounds complicated but it's really not, you just oxegynate the water, a lot like you would a fishtank kind of. Get an air pump, drop some stones in the bucket, roots never lack for oxygen never have rot issues or "over-water" issues.

Hey, nice set up, I envy the space. What is your feed now per gallon? what nutes?Nov 16th, day 23 from germ/20 in the buckets, 17 sense water in the juice for the 2 big ones tsts, and pappy's monster pie from dream beans, day 17 from germ/moved to the buckets for Nancy's Own Mace Windu II, and Blueberry Milkshake from AFA and 12 days sense roots in the water, day 13 for River market slushy and cosmic vanilla from dreambeans sense germ/moved to the buckets and 9 days sense roots in the water. The other 3 don't remember when they germinated but moved to the buckets yesterday or the day before....continued View attachment 553View attachment 554View attachment 556View attachment 555View attachment 551

Hey, I ask to compare notes. I'm not in a DWC I use Autopots I feed a balanced dose with General Hydroponics. At 3 weeks into flower I'm feeding 2/2/2/2/1tsp. Micro/Grow/Bloom/Diamond Nectar/ Epsom Salts and move up as I go towards flower at 3/3/3/3/1- 4/4/4/4/1-5/5/5/4/1 at flip in ml/gallonKosher Grow full strength on most of them, success nutrients on 2 of them week 3 1/2 strength
